RIVERS CASINO COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS PARTNER WITH COMMUNITY KITCHEN PITTSBURGH TO PREPARE THANKSGIVING MEALS

PITTSBURGH — Nov. 16, 2017 — Today, the Rivers Casino Community Champions are donating their time, efforts and approximately 30 turkeys to the Community Kitchen Pittsburgh to assist in preparing Thanksgiving meals.

The meals packed by the Community Kitchen Pittsburgh and Rivers Casino’s Team Members will be handed out to various homeless shelters and nonprofit congregate feeding sites in the region. These meals help lift the spirit of deserving men and women during the holidays.

“We are proud to partner again this year with Community Kitchen Pittsburgh,” said Rahmon Hart, director of community relations at Rivers Casino. “It’s very rewarding to see our Team Members volunteering to help their neighbors.”

Community Kitchen Pittsburgh, launched in 2013, is a mission-based food service company focused on workforce development, community-engagement and food waste reduction. The organization supports a sustainable food system through financially, socially and environmentally sound practices in an effort to create economic opportunities and food security in the community. The organization is also a part of Catalyst Kitchens, a group of socially focused entrepreneurs committed to breaking the cycle of joblessness, poverty and hunger.
